Four islands of Cyclades, Santorini, Milos, Naxos and Paros were chosen by the Austrian newspaper to be included in an article titled ” Cyclades: Volcano Worlds.”
In five pages the author of the article presents the beauty of these four islands including useful information for accommodation, attractions and entertainment.
The article starts with Santorini describing the volcanic morphology, the typical white houses, its tourism sites, the famous – ” red ” and ” black ” – beaches and mentioning specifically that before the mass tourism, windmills and vineyards were the dominant elements of the island.
Introducing the Milos island, the author refers, among others, to the story of the peasant who discovered the statue of Aphrodite in 1820. The statue is hosted at the Louvre museum whereas the local Archaeological Museum has a copy of the statue.
As it is mentioned in the article, tourists can visit catacombs of early Christian times and a Roman theater as well as rock formations of unique beauty which remind of a lunar landscape. Also they can take a tour to sulfur miners or enjoy the numerous beaches.
