The cruise ship “Golden Iris” with 820 Israeli passengers on board on Thursday docked at the seaport of Thessaloniki.
The sightseeing itinerary included visits to the Jewish Museum, the Jewish Cemetery and Synagogue and the Old City of Thessaloniki.
A total of 30 cruise ships are expected to visit the northern seaport this tourism season.
Thessaloniki Port Authority S.A. (THPA S.A.) President & CEO Stelios Anggeloudis underlined that the city can become a major cruise ship destination in northeastern Mediterranean, noting that to this end, THPA S.A. has already considerably reduced berth cost and is in contact with sea cruise sector companies to increase arrivals.
