Herald Sun published an article about the Greek islands that visitors do not know, but they should definitely visit, including Corfu, Paxi and Anti-Paxi.

The journalist praises the Ionian islands by saying that they “comprised lushly wooded landscapes and fertile valleys” contrary to the “the barrenness of the Cyclades “ advising readers to visit them.

Corfu

The article mentions its “Verdant hillsides which were blanketed with cypress, olive groves and orchards.”

Paxi – Anti-Paxi

The journalist refers to the “lovely Lakka Bay which offered shelter for yachts, while Gaios’ harbourside village was a twist of colourful backstreets”
Lefkada

The island is “connected to the mainland by a narrow isthmus” and its “lively main town was a haphazard collection of wood and corrugated iron-roofed buildings”

Kefalonia

The journalist mentions the unique wine of Kefalonia from the “rare Robola grape – the primary produce from the intriguing winery co-operative of 300 local farmers”

Zakynthos

When describing the island, the journalist did not miss the opportunity to mention the famous Navagio beach: “Otherwise known by its Italian name Zante, the island garnered fame for Navagio, an idyllic beach setting often featured in worldwide top 10s”
