Kastellorizo, a small island that will simply blow your mind

The island, one of Greece's best kept secrets, has a long history starting in the early Neolithic era.

Newsroom July 25 11:31

Kastellorizo, or Megisti as it is officially called in Greece, is one of the smallest and most picturesque islands of the Dodecanese complex, located on the easternmost edge of Greece.

The island, one of Greece’s best kept secrets, has a long history starting in the early Neolithic era. Upon arriving, you will be impressed by the beauty of the harbor with its neoclassical mansions and their colorful facades.

The minaret and the red dome of the mosque of 1755 are some of the most prominent features that will immediately catch your attention. The small fishing boats complete the idyllic setting.

Kastellorizo village is the island’s only populated area. Explore the cobblestone alleys and admire the traditional colorful mansions with their beautiful balconies. Don’t forget to make a stop at a local restaurant, to taste katoumari, a traditional sweet of Kastellorizo.
