Upon arriving in Athens, many visitors feel overwhelmed by the size of the Greek capital, its bustling streets and its crowded squares.

Compared to the picturesque little villages and the idyllic landscapes many tourists expect to see while visiting Greece, Athens may seem unappealing at first, but the city does improve upon closer acquaintance.
