Athens International Airports points to positive signs for winter season

The future looks bright for Athens International Airport

Athens International Airport (AIA) presented positive developments in the city’s aviation market since the start of the year. The signs for 2014/2015 winter period are positive with the Athens network international weekly and 85 domestic flights.

In the first 9 months of 2014, AIA recorded a 19.4% increase in traffic, two million additional passengers and 168 new weekly international flights and a 28% increase to foreign visitors.

Furthermore, AIA gained the top position amongst all European airports in passenger traffic, flights and capacity increase. With 15 new destinations added for 2014 and additional flights in 33 served destinations, AIA offers a network of 108 destinations with significantly increased connectivity.
