According to the findings of a new research conducted by global travel search website Skyscanner, Siem Reap in Cambodia, Fort Lauderdale in Florida and the Greek island of Mykonos are the three top “destinations to watch” for 2015.

Although their neighbours Thailand, Miami and Santorini have been more popular in the past, these idyllic destinations are rising in popularity, Scyscanner says.

More specifically, Siem Reap in the north west of Cambodia tops the list of “destinations to watch” with a 33% increase in searches from the UK, followed by Fort Lauderdale, Florida (32%) and Mykonos (31%).

The Greek island’s revival in popularity is attributed by the website to the glamorous crowd it attracts.

“When it comes to celeb appeal, Mykonos is a proven hit, attracting the likes of LeBron James, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Cristiano Ronaldo and Jennifer Lopez. Famous friends have helped put the small Greek island firmly on the map for fashionable travellers looking to relax in luxury. Meanwhile, Mykonos’ party scene is primed to give Ibiza a run for its money as the nightlife spot in Europe. Recovering from the night before?
