Athens International Airport has outperformed many others in Europe thanks to the highest figures of passenger growth in April among airports of its caliber. Passenger growth was at 21.2% in April with numbers at 1,454,833, according to figures of the Airports Council International Europe. These numbers reflect Greece’s recent tourism recovery. The airport also had strong passenger numbers in May with a total of 1,653,526 visitors marking a 22.4% increase compared to May of last year. For the AIA this is the strongest year in its history.
