Grace in Santorini offers accomodation to privileged and money to charity

For every night a room in a Grace hotel is occupied, the Grace Foundation pledges $1 (or its equivalent in the appropriate local currency) to SOS Children's Villages

Newsroom June 11 01:27

Stay at the Grace Hotels in Santorini, Greece, and the chain will donate $1 for every night a room is occupied in each of their hotels to charity. They also invite guests to contribute the same amount per night. And as if that isn’t enough, they’ll also donate money from the sale of certain food and drink items sold in the restaurants.

The money goes to SOS Children’s Villages (via the hotels’ Grace Foundation), which protect children at risk in 125 countries, providing them with health care, education and family-based care.

Beyond offering funds to charities, the hotels also offering training and education opportunities through an internship program.

The Grace Hotels site describes its charity program:

”Grace Hotels takes great care to develop and operate our hotels in a responsible, sustainable manner. This includes an environmental awareness policy in each hotel and a culture of empathy and respect for the communities among whom we work.

Our ‘Give with Grace’ program enables our guests to join us in our charitable deeds. Under this initiative, for every night a room in a Grace hotel is occupied, the Grace Foundation pledges $1 (or its equivalent in the appropriate local currency) to SOS Children’s Villages, a global organisation which provides services and much needed support to children who have lost or who are at risk of losing parental care. It is guided by the spirit of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and adheres to the principle that every child grows best in a family environment, with loving parents or care-givers, living together with their siblings, in a place they can call home.

Under the scheme we invite our guests to match the Grace Foundation’s donation by also contributing $1 for each night that they stay at a Grace hotel. Of course any match-funding by guests is entirely optional. We raise further funds for the foundation by making a donation from the sale of certain special dishes and beverages served in our restaurants and bars. In addition, ‘Give with Grace’ bracelets, featuring the gold plated and sterling silver conjoined ‘G’ emblem and echoing the infinity symbol, are available to buy at all our hotels. The bracelets come in a variety of colours and are handmade exclusively for Grace Hotels. All sales proceeds go towards the Give with Grace programme.”

Grace currently have 6 properties in Greece, the USA, Panama and Argentina, and have 6 more in the pipeline.
