Athens’ Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport (AIA) on Wednesday announced that it is the first worldwide to implement a flight live information application through Facebook Messenger. Additionally, it debuted free and unlimited WiFi on all airport premises.

Users can log onto Facebook Messenger through mobile, tablet, or laptop in order to receive live flight information, using hashtags (#) and special key words (e.g. flight & code number).

According to the airport, by sending a Facebook message and keyword to the inbox of the new pagewww.facebook.com/ATHmessenger, users will receive relevant information and updates on flights they are interested in.
