Arachova, a scenic town near the ski resort of Mt. Parnassos, was inundated with high society over the Christmas break. Far removed from austerity, the economic crisis and bailouts the cosmopolitan city once again brought memories of times past with rooms filled 100% and streets filled with Hummers, Range Rovers and Porsche Cayennes.
Taverns and bars were fully booked and teh Moet & Chandon flowed freely. Surprised, hoteliers and restaurant owners rubbed their eyes, unable to believe their good fortune as Arachova once again resembled its heyday with traffic, mayhem, chaos and good cheer.
One of the thousands of holidaymakers in the region told protothema.gr that there were was such a sudden thrust that they ran out of water and needed to ration H2O so as to cater to the demands of the people.
Arachova’s Mayor John Georgakos explained away the phenomenon by stating that the recent terrorist attacks in Paris kept people away from other locations choosing instead to head to cosmopolitan Arachova.
