Matala music-dance festival starts June 17

Hippy event largest festival in southern Greece

The music-dance festival at Matala, Crete returns this summer starting June 17. The free camping, hippyesque event, which is scheduled to last for 3 days and attracts tourists from all over the world, promises to offer a great line up of performers. Friday’s opening group to take the Cave stage has already been announced and will be ‘Alone Together’. Matala street painting is another artistic event festival goers are looking forward to, with the streets of Matala becoming a huge canvas for painters between the ages of 5 and 105! The Matala street painting is organised every year the Sunday prior to the Matala proper music festival.
