Hurriyet: A Turkish Coast Guard boat went to Imia (PHOTOS+VIDEO)

Turkey is trying to escalate the tensions on the area again

According to a news report from the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet, a Turkish Coast Guard boat with members of the Special Forces, approached the small rocky islets of Imia. They stayed for around and took some photos.

The Hellenic Coast Guard sent two patrol ships. When they approached the Turkish boat the latter left the Greek waters towards Turkey again.

This is one of many such incidents in the area, which indicates that Turkey is not only questioning the Greek sovereign rights, but they are apparently hoping that the Greek side will make a mistake that will lead to a new crisis.
