A new increase of the refugees and illegal immigrants in Lesvos, Chios and Samos from Thursday to Monday. In total 566 new arrivals have been recorded making the number of people trapped in the Aegean Sea islands climb to 8.759!

According to the authorities 195 people landed on Lesvos, 341 on Chios and 30 on Samos. The Greek officials attribute the increased number of arrivals to the improvement of the weather conditions these last days.

However, the possibility that Turkey is trying to make a diplomatic point by sending these people to Europe can not be excluded.

At the same time the Turkish Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu is mocking Europe by stating that, “when they said they will send 15.000 people, they meant immigrants, not refugees”…
