The dog that ran a semi-marathon in Thessaly (video)

It ran 21km from Kalambaka to Trikala

Newsroom March 16 11:25

This year’s half marathon in Trikala in Thessaly had a big protagonist, a stray animal. The dog started running from Kalambaka and finished the race in Trikala.

The cinnamon canine came to the attention of some youths running in the race when they noticed it from the start of the route. Whether the lovable animal ever returned to his base is unknown.

And yet, the pictured dog (3.33 min) ran on Sunday (13-03-2022) normally the 21 km of the half marathon, starting from Kalambaka and finished normally in Trikala!

The dog is quite likely a stray and did appear to be following anyone specifically on the route. If anyone from Kalambaka knows the dog it would be good to arrange for his return.
