Olympiakos BC coach Bartzokas receives Euroleague Coach of the Year award

It is his second award

Newsroom May 18 04:46

Olympiakos BC coach George Bartzokas was awarded the title of Euroleague coach of the year for the second time in his career.

His first award was in 2013, making him the second Greek coach to win the accolade for a second time, the first one being Dimitris Itoudis.

The Olympiacos coach received the award named after the legendary Alexander Gomelsky in Belgrade from Dusan Ivkovic’s wife, Nena.

“It’s an emotional moment for me. And an important honour, because there are excellent coaches in the EuroLeague. I thank the organisation of Olympiakos, my associates, and the players who helped me get here. It is an honor to receive this award from my colleagues, and coaches”, said Bartzokas.

In addition, Sasha Vezenkov received his award as a member of the top five of the year and Costas Sloukas as a member of the second five.
