Cristiano Ronaldo sentenced to 99 lashes in Iran for hugging a disabled female painter! (photos)

It is a crime under Islamic law to hug an unmarried woman

Newsroom October 13 07:01

Cristiano Ronaldo has been sentenced to 99 lashes by an Iranian court after the Portugal international was judged to have violated Islamic law for hugging a disabled female artist who is unmarried.

Ronaldo had recently visited Tehran with Al Nasr to play Persepolis in the Asian Champions League and was received as a… King.

But he could not have imagined the tun his visit would take. At the hotel where he was staying, he had already become a statue, the famous Iranian painter Fatemeh Amami was waiting for him to hand over two of his portraits.

Fatemeh is 85% disabled and paints with her right leg. To thank her, Ronaldo hugged and kissed her. This gesture angered two Iranian lawyers who filed a lawsuit against Cristiano.

In Iran when you hug and kiss an unmarried woman it is considered adultery and so the court sentenced him to 99 lashes, which he will… accept if he visits Iran again!

According to Marca, the sentence could be forgiven by a judge “if the acts are not criminal or if Cristiano Ronaldo shows remorse”.
