Greece: Syrian man caught with knife & Quran in church – He started shouting “Allahu Akbar”

The man is a 24-year-old Syrian and has been arrested before for similar incidents

Police officers proceeded shortly after 19.00 in the evening to bring in a foreigner, Syrian according to the first information, who was acting suspiciously inside the church of Agios Panteleimon in Athens.

According to information, it all happened when someone saw the man entering the church and exhibiting strange behavior.

He then informed a police rapid reaction team that was in the area and asked them to check on him.

When the police arrived at the scene, the man resisted and started shouting “Allahu Akbar” with the officers finally managing to apprehend him.

He had in his possession a backpack in which a knife and a Quran were found.
