Tomorrow, Sunday, the 12th Athens Half Marathon will take place, in memory of Mikis Theodorakis.

The races scheduled for that day are three: the Half Marathon at a distance of 21 kilometers, the 5-kilometer OPAP race, and the Family Run, where children will run accompanied by adults.

The start will be given at 9:00 for the 21 km race, at 09:25 for the Family Run, and at 12:00 for the 5 km OPAP race.

The Athens Half Marathon follows the route:

Start: Monument of the Unknown Soldier (Mnimonio Agnostou Stratioti) Route: University Avenue – Stadiou – Filellinon – Amalias Avenue – A. Diakou – Arditou (downstream) – V. Konstantinou Avenue (upstream) – V. Sofias Avenue – Mesogeion Avenue – Michalakopoulou – Mesogeion Avenue – U-turn at Sofia Slidman – Mesogeion Avenue – Feidippidou – V. Sofias Avenue – Akadimias – Chalkokondyli – Patision – U-turn at Kefallenias Street – Patision – University Avenue – Filellinon – Amalias Avenue – A. Diakou – Arditou (downstream) – V. Konstantinou Avenue (downstream), Rizari – V. Sofias Avenue – Akadimias – Rigas Feraios – University Avenue – Amalias Avenue.

Traffic regulations for the Half Marathon:

Temporary and gradual interruption of vehicle traffic (including bicycles and EPHEs) and prohibition of their parking and stopping, on Sunday, 10/03/2024, from 07:00 to 13:30, on the following avenues, streets, and squares, in the Municipality of Athens, as follows:

  • Queen Amalia Avenue, on both lanes of traffic, as well as on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street between Vas. Olgas and Syggrou Avenues.
  • In the section between Vas. Olgas Avenue and Eleftherios Venizelos Avenue (University), the interruption of vehicle traffic will apply from 06:00 to 14:00, while further on the section between Souris and Vasilissis Sofias streets, traffic will be gradually interrupted in the right lane from 14:00 on Saturday 09/03/2024 until 14:00 on Sunday 10/03/2024.
  • Eleftherios Venizelos Avenue (University) in its entire length, as well as on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street.
  • Stadiou, in its entire length, as well as on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street.
  • In the section from Amerikis to Syntagma Square, the interruption of vehicle traffic will be gradually implemented from 06:00 to 13:30 on Sunday 10/03/2024.
  • Akadimias, in its entire length, as well as on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street of Solon.
  • Solon, in its entire length, as well as on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street.
  • Omonia Square
  • Syntagma Square
  • Filellinon, in its entire length, as well as on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street between 06:00 and 13:30 on Sunday 10/03/2024. Patision – 28th October, in the section between Ag. Meletiou Street and Omonia Square and on both lanes of traffic, as well as on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street.
  • Vas. Olgas Avenue, in its entire length and on both lanes of traffic.
  • Syngrou Avenue, in the section between Am. Frantzis Street and Queen Amalia Avenue and on both lanes of traffic, as well as on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street.
  • Kallirois, in the section between Am. Frantzis and Ath. Diakou streets and on both lanes of traffic.
  • Ath. Diakou, in its entire length, traffic direction towards V. Sofias Avenue.
  • Iraklidou, in its entire length and on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street.
  • Aravantinou, in its entire length and on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street.
  • Isiodou, in its entire length and on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street.
  • Rigillis, in its entire length and on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street.
  • P. Tsaldari (Piraeus), in the section between Kolonou Street and Omonia Square and on both lanes of traffic, as well as on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street.
  • Athinas, in the section between Sophokleous Street and Omonia Square and on both lanes of traffic, as well as on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street.
  • Anonymous Road (next to Eleftherias Park), in its entire length.
  • Kokkali, in its entire length.
  • Monis Petraki, in the section between Ypsilantou Street and Vasilissis Sofias Avenue.
  • Hatziyianni, in its entire length.
  • Zacharof, in its entire length.
  • Tsocha, in the section between P. Kyriakou Street and Vasilissis Sofias Avenue.
  • Vouliagmenis Avenue, in the section between Timoleon and Arditou streets, traffic direction towards Ath. Diakou, as well as on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street.
  • Arditou, in the section between Vouliagmenis and Vas. Olgas avenues and on both lanes of traffic, as well as on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street.
  • Vas. Konstantinou Avenue, in the section between Vas. Olgas Avenue and Vas. Alexandrou Street and on both lanes of traffic, as well as on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street.
  • Vasilissis Sofias Avenue, in the section between Feidippidou Street and Vas. Konstantinou Avenue and on both lanes of traffic, as well as on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street, except Papadiamantopoulou Street.
  • Kifissias Avenue, in the section between Panormou and Feidippidou streets, traffic direction towards Vasilissis Sofias, as well as on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street.
  • Alexandra Avenue, in the section between Panormou and Kifissias streets, traffic direction towards Kifissias, as well as on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street.
  • Alexandra Avenue, in the section between Moustoxidou and Patision streets, traffic direction towards Patision, as well as on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street.
  • Mesogeion St., in its section between Katehaki St. to the Athens tower and in both -2- traffic streams, as well as on its perpendiculars up to the first parallel street Fidippidou, in the section between Michalakopoulou Street to Kifisias Street, as well as on its perpendiculars to the first parallel street Thebes, in the section between Papadiamantopoulou and Levadeia streets, traffic flow towards Mesogeion Avenue
  • Michalakopoulou, in the section between Ilision Street and Mesogeion Street, traffic flow towards Mesogeion Street

    Prohibition of the vertical passage of vehicles from the Half Marathon route, during the hours when the traffic ban will be in effect, except for the following controlled junctions:

    – Patision – 28 October – Ag. Study
    – L. Vas. Sofia – Herodos Attikos (only for Fire Service vehicles)
    – L. Vas. Sofias – Papadiamantopoulou
    – L. Vas. Sofias – Kokkali
    – L. Vas. Sofias – Rigillis (only for vehicles of the Fire Service and E.K.A.B.)
    – L. Vas. Kon/nou – Vas. Georgiou.
