Motion of no-confidence: Ongoing debate in Parliament – Watch live

Triantopoulos: there were no orders for the development of the area in Tempi - Today the intervention of Kostas Karamanlis, tomorrow, the Prime Minister's statement

Newsroom March 27 06:51

In a battle position entered from yesterday the government against the background of the impeachment motion filed in the end four opposition parties, as shown by the tough attitude of the Minister of State Makis Voridis who undertook to “receive” from the government side the request of Nikos Androulakis.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who has been back in Greece since yesterday, after his return from Canada, will follow the process and is preparing tomorrow to broadcast in extremely high tones towards the opposition parties.

Karamanlis’ intervention

Today, former Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Costas Karamanlis is expected to intervene in the debate, as first reported yesterday by protothema.gr.

Karamanlis has been targeted by the opposition for his stance on the case, but has also received “friendly” fire from members of the Southwest and Justice Minister George Floridis.

Karamanlis is expected to take a position “in an institutional manner”, according to his interlocutors, in the spirit of his recent testimony to the House of Representatives’ Committee of Inquiry, where he answered questions for eight hours.

However, Karamanlis did not speak, nor was he present, at the debate on the Inquiry’s findings, so that his attitude was commented on and additional pressure was put on him to be present these days.

His associates, however, say that his speech will be political, not technical, and he will attempt to counterattack by talking about the political exploitation of the tragedy.
