Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is currently meeting with the heads of member companies and associations of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (IFPMA) at the Maximou.

These are the CEOs of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies from Europe, the United States and Japan, who are in Greece at the initiative of Pfizer Chairman and CEO Albert Bourla.

The Biopharmaceutical CEOs Roundtable (BCR) is a global policy forum held every two years, where global pharmaceutical leaders – members of IFPMA – discuss global health policies affecting biomedical innovation.

Where possible, BCR organises meetings with government officials and policy makers.

IFPMA represents over 90 innovative pharmaceutical companies and associations around the world. The industry’s nearly three million employees discover, develop and deliver medicines and vaccines that advance global health.

Headquartered in Geneva, IFPMA has formal relations with the United Nations and contributes industry expertise to help the global health community improve the lives of people everywhere.

During their stay in Athens, the global pharmaceutical leaders are primarily concerned with the major overhaul of pharmaceutical legislation being prepared in the European Union.

At the same time, they will also address public health issues and the industry’s strategic goals for the next 5 years.
