Pulse Poll: ND 33%, SYRIZA in second place with 15%, new decline for PASOK

Greater problem is the "price hikes", "no" to early elections

Newsroom April 3 10:07

In the survey presented on the main news bulletin of Skai, Pulse recorded New Democracy at 33%, reflecting the percentage of the 2019 European elections but with a loss of 2.5 percentage points in March. However, the governing party maintains its dominance. In the question regarding the most suitable Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis remains steady at 34%, with an 18-point lead over Stefanos Kasselakis, who, however, gains two points within a month.

The poll took place from April 1st to April 3rd – that is, after the completion of the discussion on the vote of no confidence proposal, which does not seem to have yielded any polling gains for Nikos Androulakis, who took the initiative by collecting the signatures of the left-wing parties. PASOK also presents a new decline of one and a half percentage points in the vote estimate, dropping from 14% to 12.5%. Meanwhile, the party’s president remained steady at 8% in suitability for Prime Minister.

Kyriakos Velopoulos’ party, Hellenic Solution, recorded gains, appearing above the Greek Communist Party (KKE) in the battle for the fourth position, with 9% in the vote estimate, up from 4.2% in the previous European elections, against 8.5% for the KKE, which loses half a point. The New Left “scored” 3% in the vote estimate, while a “tie” is recorded between Niki and Freedom Wave, at 3.5%. The Democrats of Andreas Loverdos gather 1.8% in this measurement, as well as the party of Afroditi Latinopoulou.

Indicative of the societal sentiment regarding the tragedy in Tempi were the responses of citizens to the question of whether they agree with the establishment of a pre-investigation committee, with 61% being definitely or rather positive and only 28% negative. Three out of four who intend to vote for SYRIZA or PASOK agree, as well as 30% of those who declare themselves New Democracy voters in the upcoming European elections.

Pulse also asked citizens to express their views on Kassellakis’ proposal for early elections – even with the presence of foreign observers. 51% responded rather or definitely negatively, but a percentage of 35% agrees. It is noteworthy that one in three PASOK voters agrees with the proposal.

A total of 44% consider high prices and the state of the economy as the country’s biggest problem, followed by a significant margin by crime, health, and justice.
