Roland Garros: The Tsitsipas brothers eliminated the 2023 champions and continue to the 3rd round in the doubles – Video Stefanos and Petros Tsitsipas advanced for the first time as a duo to the “16” of a Grand Slam.

With a comeback, Stefanos and Petros Tsitsipas defeated Austin Krajicek and Ivan Dodig with 2-1 (6-4, 5-7, 3-6), who had won the title in last year’s Roland Garros doubles, and for the first time as a duo, they managed to advance to the third round of a Grand Slam. Stefanos Tsitsipas continues to ignore defeat in this year’s tournament (he has already advanced to the singles quarterfinals) and with today’s victory, he reached six at the top tournament in Paris, with four of them being in singles.

After a match that lasted over two and a half hours, the Tsitsipas brothers managed to leave behind their defeat in the first set (6-4), and with a fantastic comeback, they turned the tables (7-5, 6-3) triumphantly securing their “ticket” for the next round. Overall, for the first time, the Tsitsipas brothers advance to the “16” stage of a Grand Slam, and with this victory, they now have realistic hopes of qualifying for the Olympic Games, which will take place at the same venue in 1.5 months and have been their main goal from the start.
