Apostolos Lytras: The trial of his ex-wife was postponed for 27/06 – The criminal lawyer is “missing and wanted”

Apostolos Lytras is wanted in the context of possible parole violation after the charge brought against him last night for the messages he sent to his wife after the incident at their home

Newsroom June 19 05:18

The trial of Apostolos Lytras‘ ex-wife, who is accused of threatening and disturbing the peace, has been postponed until June 27, following a lawsuit filed by Sofia Polyzogopoulou.

The ex-wife of the accused lawyer was taken to the Court after the prosecution, with Sofia Polyzogopoulou claiming, however, that the complainant (herself) is seriously injured and therefore unable to be in court and defend her lawsuit. In fact, as her lawyer Themis Sofos said, the lawyer, who suffered a vicious beating by her husband Apostolos Lytras, was examined and given the recommendation to remain at home until she recovers and her condition is reviewed. Therefore, as Sofos pointed out, the complainant (Sofia Polyzogopoulou) was unable to attend court and testify.

Furthermore, the lawyer of Ms. Polyzogopoulou asked the court to impose a restraining order on the ex-wife of Apostolos Lytras not to approach the house of his client. The court ruled that because of the offences and the context of the sentence, it could not impose such a restrictive condition.

It may be recalled that criminal charges for the offences of disturbing domestic peace and threatening were earlier brought by the prosecution against the ex-wife, after a complaint filed against her by Sofia Polyzogopoulou. After the criminal prosecution, the former wife of Apostolos Lytras was referred to trial by the Autonomous Single Judge Court.

But at the same time, the prosecution took other actions. In particular, it forwarded to the interrogator Chr. Salappa, who is handling the Lytra case, copies of the case file so that the judicial officer can decide whether the restrictive conditions imposed on the criminal lawyer after his apology for the brutal beating of Ms. Polyzogopoulou were violated. And if it is found that the accused lawyer violated the restrictive conditions imposed on him, then a warrant will be issued for his arrest.

Finally, copies of the case file were also read to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Court of Appeal for further action regarding the lawyer and associate Apostolos Lytras, who has also been sued by Ms. Polyzogopoulou.

Earlier, the former wife of Apostolos Lytras was taken to the courts of the former Evelpidon school shortly before 12 noon, who was arrested afterfrom a lawsuit filed against her by the wife of the criminal lawyer Sofia Polyzogopoulou. According to the lawsuit, the ex-wife of Apostolos Lytras is accused of disturbing the peace, unlawful violence, insulting and threatening the criminal lawyer, as on Tuesday night he went to the house where Mrs. Polyzogopoulou lives in Gerakas with her activating the panic button.

“Send my money and clothes”

Sophia Polyzogopoulou claims that Apostolos Lytras sent her a threatening message in which he reportedly wrote “send the money and clothes”. As her lawyer, Themis Sofos, explained, Ms. Polyzogopoulou had joined a viber group without her consent, in which “messages were sent that have the character of an exhortative, not a resignation, the character of a group of people who want to put pressure on Sophia.”

The lawsuit against Apostolos Lytras was filed for violating a court order (the criminal lawyer has been given a restraining order not to approach his wife) because Sophia Polyzogopoulou claims he sent her a threatening message after what happened on Tuesday night in Gerakas. The lawsuit concerns a violation of restraining conditions, both that of mandatory relocation because she has not delivered the keys as she should have, and the condition of the ban on socializing as she allegedly sent messages that are considered threatening.

Following the filing of a complaint and the formation of a case file, police officers searched for Apostolos Lytras at the place where he had stated he would be (i.e. his ex-wife’s house), but did not find him there, while at the same time he did not answer the phone calls made to him. However, according to information, Lytras is expected to present himself voluntarily at the Pallene Police Station.

No restraining order was violated, Lytra’s lawyer argues

For his part, the criminal lawyer’s lawyer, Petros Pantazis, argued that no restraining order had been violated by Apostolos Lytras and that there had been information about the visit to the house in Gerakas of his ex-wife and lawyer. “There is a condition for Mr. Lytra to relocate from his residence and not to approach his wife. To relocate he has to take his personal belongings. There was a communication from the other defence colleague for his ex-wife and daughter to go and get the things and to their surprise a complaint was filed,” he told Action24.

“Of course there was prior communication, 3 people don’t just show up in a house without informing first,” he insisted.

He added “Mr. Lytras did not violate any restraining order, no threatening message was sent, these are jokes and all that happened was an attempt to receive certain personal items of Mr. Lytras.”

“Whatever happened the restraining order was not breached. In order not to associate and approach his wife he sent people to take his personal belongings, he had to take his clothes, that’s where his house was,” concluded Mr. Pantazis.

The incident that triggered the panic button

It will be recalled that on Tuesday night there was a commotion at the home of Sofia Polyzogopoulou in Gerakas when the 37-year-old lawyer’s panic button was activated by the 37-year-old lawyer herself. The alarm was raised at the GADA Center shortly after 20:00, resulting in the immediate arrival of three police cars of the Rapid Action and the guard of the house.

It was found that Lytra’s ex-wife had arrived at the house along with their eldest daughter and a lawyer and attempted to enter the house. The father of Polyzogopoulou came out on the balcony and then there was a lot of tension as the lawyer also appeared, who activated the panic button and reportedly lost consciousness.
