The opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris concluded with an emotional moment as Celine Dion, who suffers from a rare neurological disorder, made her musical return after four years.

The 56-year-old star performed “Hymne à L’Amour” by the legendary Edith Piaf at the Eiffel Tower, with fans from around the world praising her performance on social media.

“Si je dois revenir chanter, ce sera pour les Jeux Olympiques.”

In December 2020, Celine Dion was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare and chronic neurological disorder that causes muscle stiffness and sometimes severe spasms, forcing her to stop her live performances. Her last performance was in the spring of 2020 in New York.
