Israel: New missile barrage from Hezbollah – Over 30 rockets launched

Attacks on the Golan Heights and Galilee according to IDF - Fires caused, three people injured - "Go to shelters" - New threats from Nasrallah against Israel

Newsroom August 6 08:28

Hezbollah launched new attacks against Israel on Tuesday afternoon, firing more than 30 rockets towards the northern regions of the country, according to the IDF.

The initial “storm” of approximately 20 rockets targeted the northern Golan Heights, with the Israeli army noting that “all rockets fell in open areas.”

A short time later, another 10 rockets were fired towards the Galilee region. According to the IDF, some of the rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome, while others landed, causing fires. No injuries were reported from these attacks.

Three individuals were injured from the new attack, and authorities are urging citizens to go to shelters.

New Threats from Nasrallah Against Israel

Earlier, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, in a speech at the memorial for the Lebanese armed group’s senior military commander, Fuad Shukr, stated that “Israel has every reason to fear an attack from Iran and the ‘axis of resistance’.”

“Hezbollah’s response to Israeli attacks will be strong and effective,” he emphasized.

According to Nasrallah, Israel is no longer the invincible force that defeated the largest Arab armies in previous wars, as today it must rely on the support of the US, the UK, France, and some Arab countries to defend against a potential Iranian attack.

According to the Times of Israel, Nasrallah also mentioned that Israel does everything it can to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state and claims that the slogan “from the river to the sea” reflects Israeli, not Palestinian, ambitions.

He also condemned the recent statement by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich that the hunger of two million residents of Gaza could be “justified and moral,” and accused Benjamin Netanyahu and his government of refusing any hostage-ceasefire agreement with Hamas.

It should be noted that before his speech, IDF warplanes broke the sound barrier while flying over Beirut. Nasrallah said the IDF did this to intimidate those gathered to watch the memorial ceremony, calling this action “petty.”
