The ITIA (International Tennis Integrity Unit) revealed that the Italian tennis player, who is currently ranked No. 1 in the world, tested positive twice for clostebol after a doping test in March but was never penalized.

Sinner was called to explain and demonstrate that the positive test results were due to a spray used by his physiotherapist. Through massage, the substance transferred from the therapist’s hands to Sinner’s body without gloves being worn.

Clostebol is an anabolic androgenic steroid (AAS) derived from testosterone. Sinner admitted this in an independent court hearing, resulting in the loss of 400 points and the $325,000 he earned at Indian Wells, but he will still be allowed to compete in the US Open.
