PASOK: The Six Leadership Candidates of the Movement Have Been Announced

Detailed announcement by the Ethics, Statutes, and Certification Committee regarding the October 6th election process – Giannis Kanellakis excluded

Newsroom September 12 08:00

The Ethics, Statutes, and Certification Committee (EDEKAP) of PASOK-Movement for Change completed the required review of signatures submitted for the nomination of presidential candidates on Wednesday, 11/09/2024. The Committee confirmed that all six candidates met the criteria outlined in the Statutes, either by gathering signatures from 15% of the Central Political Committee members or by collecting 5,000 member signatures. It was noted that all candidates submitted unique signatures well above the required threshold. However, Giannis Kanellakis did not gather the necessary signatures and will not be a candidate.

  • Nikos Androulakis
  • Pavlos Geroulanos
  • Nantia Giannakopoulou
  • Anna Diamantopoulou
  • Haris Doukas
  • Michalis Katrinis

EDEKAP urged PASOK members and supporters to ensure maximum participation in the election process, which PASOK was the first to establish, allowing members to elect the president directly from the base.

At this pivotal political moment, with PASOK-Movement for Change gaining momentum, widespread participation in the election will send a strong message for the political change the country needs.
