Inflation, Health, Education, Crime and low wages are declared as the most important problems of Greek society

Newsroom September 25 09:16

The dominance of the New Democracy despite growing discontent over inflation is also recorded in the Prorata poll, presented on Attica tv. 72% say that “definitely” or “probably” the country is heading in the wrong direction, and accuracy, health, education, crime and low wages are listed as the country’s most important problems.

In the vote intention, New Democracy appears to garner 24%, PASOK is in second place with 13.5% and SYRIZA and the KKE are fighting a battle for dominance in the 9 to 10% zone. The Hellenic Solution, Niki and the Voice of Reason add up to 17.5%. A finding of this survey is that in the category of those who say that they have a hard time making ends meet (21% of all respondents), the first party is the Hellenic Solution of Kyriakos Velopoulos with 14%, the KKE with 13%, followed by the ND with 12.5%.

In SYRIZA, the shifts recorded by Prorata are large, with 47% of its voters surveyed saying that the presence of Stefanos Kasselakis in the leadership weakens the prospect of party reconstruction and 63% believing that Alexis Tsipras will play a role in the developments of the center-left. In relation to the internal party elections for the nomination of a new leader, Stefanos Kasselakis appears to be leading with 27%, but the total number of those who support the candidacies of Famellos and Gerovassili (the survey was completed on the same day that the former minister announced that she would not run for the presidency) is at the same level.

Tight race in PASOK

In PASOK, Nikos Androulakis appears to maintain a lead over his rivals in the first round with 26%, followed by Charis Doukas with 22% and Anna Diandopoulou with 21%. Pavlos Geroulanos is at 15%, Michalis Katrinis at 4% and Nadia Giannakopoulou at 3%. According to the survey, the current President of PASOK maintains a lead in the second round, outperforming Charis Doukas (45% against 38% for the Mayor of Athens) and Anna Diamantopoulou (44% against 38%), as well as Pavlos Geroulanos (48% against 37%). Those who say they have not yet decided or do not want to express their preference are at the 10% level. It is noted that the survey was completed before the debate of the six PASOK candidates.
