Avgenakis: I will not participate in the elections of independent MPs or any attempts to form a parliamentary group

The former minister states that despite his expulsion, he continues to serve the parliamentary group of New Democracy, which he represents

Mr. Lefteris Avgenakis expresses his commitment to the principles of New Democracy in a post, stating that he continues to serve the parliamentary group of the majority despite being expelled and functioning as an independent MP.

In light of the processes initiated among the 14 independent MPs to elect a representative for the Conference of Presidents of the Parliament, Mr. Avgenakis stated:

“I contacted the President of the Hellenic Parliament, Mr. Konstantinos Tasoulas, today, following the letter I received from the Special Secretariat of the Parliament, in order to appoint a representative and an alternate for myself in the Conference of Presidents.

I reiterated that I have no intention of participating in any efforts to form a parliamentary group of independent MPs.

My political journey all these years is based on the principles of our liberal party, New Democracy, which I serve and will continue to serve with all my strength.”
