A marine pollution response exercise was successfully carried out in the port of Spetses, under the supervision and coordination of the Port Fund and in the presence of the Port Authority, Commodore Panagiotis Maridakis.

The purpose of the exercise that lasted for days was the preparation and training of the competent bodies in the immediate and effective response to pollution incidents and more specifically from oil fuel oil leakage, ensuring the protection of the marine environment and the coastal area of the island.

“The exercise was attended by representatives and staff of the Port Fund, as well as other competent bodies, who cooperated perfectly for the implementation of the scenario, applying specialized techniques and equipment for the containment and removal of any pollutants,” the Municipality of Spetses said in a statement.
