Murder in Agrinio: “Vasso, I did it, I hit Dora” – The last phone call of the 30-year-old

The 30-year-old former partner of Dora remains at large – A local resident saw him near a lake on Monday evening with a backpack and a gun in his hand

Newsroom November 12 10:05

The investigations by the Greek police are in full swing to locate the 30-year-old who, on Monday afternoon, shot and killed 43-year-old Dora at point-blank range in Agrinio.

So far, only the 30-year-old’s car has been located in the Myrtia area, but not the weapon, a pistol, which was used in the murder.

According to reports, the last person to see the 30-year-old was a local resident shortly after 8 p.m. near a lake in the area, who described the suspect as carrying a backpack and holding a gun.

According to his sister, who spoke to journalists, the 30-year-old “had been with the girl for about four years. We want to apologize. My brother wasn’t that kind of person. We don’t want anything bad to happen to him. He should be arrested and pay for what he did, but not killed, not to commit suicide. He threatened he would commit suicide. He called me in the afternoon. He said, ‘Vasso, I did it, I hit Dora.’ I told him she wasn’t his property, to leave her alone. He did it. I can’t believe what he did. He wasn’t that kind of person. He told me he was going to leave, to take care of our mother and the child (referring to her). His phone is off. She had filed for restraining orders against him.”

His mother also spoke, saying, “He wasn’t disturbed. He left, saying he was going for a walk and would return. When I came home, I saw the car. But he wasn’t here. If I saw him now, I’d tell him to surrender.”

According to information, the 30-year-old had been reported by the victim for domestic violence. Hunting rifles had been confiscated from him by the Thermo Police Department, and in a few days (November 15th), he was scheduled to stand trial after a lawsuit filed by the 43-year-old. He had been issued restraining orders not to approach Dora, though reports suggest she did not use a panic button.

Other reports state that the Extortion Department does not have any records of the 30-year-old’s involvement in the Greek mafia.
