Aphrodite Latinopoulou: Konstantinos Bogdanos accuses her of founding party with forged signatures

Two former members of the "Voice of Reason" party claim that the signatures submitted to the Supreme Court of Greece (Areios Pagos) do not correspond to real individuals

Newsroom November 14 06:17

Konstantinos Bogdanos, a former MP and journalist, has accused Aphrodite Latinopoulou of submitting forged signatures to establish her political party “Voice of Reason.”

According to Bogdanos, who has filed a report with the Supreme Court of Greece (Areios Pagos), at least two former party members, Ion Andrikopoulos and another individual, claim that the signatures submitted do not correspond to real people.

They provided evidence suggesting that many of the 200 signatures required by law for party formation were fabricated.

Bogdanos emphasized that this case raises serious concerns about the legitimacy of Latinopoulou’s party. The legal representative in the case, Theodoros Mantas, stated, “This is a shocking and severe allegation, and everything indicates its validity.” Mantas called for immediate judicial investigation to verify the authenticity of the signatures.

Initially, Latinopoulou’s party was named “PA.TRI.DA” but was disqualified from the May 2023 elections by the Supreme Court due to name conflicts with Bogdanos’ own party. Subsequently, it was renamed to “Voice of Reason – Aphrodite Latinopoulou.” However, the party did not resubmit the necessary 200 signatures following the name change, which is a legal requirement.

Legal experts suggest that if the accusations are proven true, Latinopoulou’s party may lose its legitimacy, and its participation in elections could be deemed invalid. This could lead to severe legal consequences for Latinopoulou, including potential charges of forgery and misleading the justice system.
