The 31-year-old Nikos Romanos, who was arrested on Monday (18/11) by anti-terrorism officers for the case of the explosion that flattened the apartment on Arkadia Street in Abelokipi and caused the death of a man and the serious injury of a girl.

He is a person with known anti-authoritarian activity who was arrested after his fingerprint was found in a bag found in the apartment on Arkadias Street containing a gun and a magazine.

Well-informed sources told protothema.gr that so far there is no evidence directly linking the arrested man to the residents of the apartment and given the fact that his fingerprint was found on a mobile device (bag), police officers are conducting an investigation to determine to what extent he is connected to the case.

Regarding his profile, it is worth noting that the 31-year-old was previously accused of involvement in the organization “Cells of Fire conspiracy”, however he was acquitted. He was also involved in criminal cases, as in 2013, he and three other people robbed a bank in Northern Greece, resulting in his arrest, conviction and imprisonment. In 2019, he was released on parole and until yesterday he was never again involved with the authorities.

It may be recalled that so far the Anti-Terrorism has made three more arrests in the blast case. A man who, according to police sources, was allegedly near the apartment at the time of the explosion, the woman who received the keys to the apartment and the woman who was injured and is being treated in hospital.

The woman who received the keys to the premises was abroad and was arrested immediately after her return as an arrest warrant was issued against her, while the man voluntarily presented himself to the authorities on the evening of November 1 and was arrested.
