The post was shared by his daughter according to his wishes. Before his passing, he had requested that she publish his farewell message on social media.

According to reports from his close circle, the psychiatrist had traveled to Egypt and became ill upon his return. He returned to the hospital, where tests revealed a bacterial infection. Dimitris Souras passed away while under hospital care.

Born in 1952 in Volos, Souras lived there until the age of 18. He went on to study at the Medical School and specialized in Psychiatry at various hospitals in Athens and abroad (Italy, France, and the U.S.). Over the last 20 years, he worked as a private psychiatrist-psychotherapist, served as the Director of the Psychiatric Clinic at “Metropolitan” Hospital, and was the Consulting Psychiatrist for the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center on pre- and post-transplant evaluations.
