Giannis Antetokounmpo: His production company releases film “Mykonos” starring Klelia Andriolatou

A heist comedy featuring Greek and international talent set on the iconic island of Mykonos

Newsroom November 20 02:20

Giannis Antetokounmpo is venturing into film production. The Greek basketball star, known for his diverse business endeavors—from energy drink brands to vineyards and wineries—has now expanded his portfolio with a cinematic debut. His new company, Improbable Media, has co-produced its first feature film, showcasing a strong Greek cultural element.

According to Studio Galazio, an international film production studio collaborating with the Greek Freak’s company, filming has been completed for their inaugural project: a heist comedy set on Mykonos.

The film follows the adventures of an eccentric group of noble thieves who rob arrogant tourists wreaking havoc on their island every summer.

Other cast members include Panos Koronis (The Lost Daughter), Makis Papadimitriou (Suntan), Giorgos Pyrpassopoulos (Crimes of the Future), Maria Kavoyianni (Maestro in Blue), Alan Asaad (Black Mirror), and Christos Passalis (Dogtooth).

Studio Galazio, a newly established production company focusing on films and TV series with strong Greek themes for international distribution, collaborated with Improbable Media—marking Giannis Antetokounmpo’s entry into film production—and the Greek company BLONDE S.A. (Tehran). The film’s producers also include Ginevra Tamberi (Amazon MGM Studios), Donna Bloom (HBO Max’s Julia), and Raphael Benoliel (Netflix’s Emily in Paris).

The Director’s Vision

Christopher André Marks, CEO of Studio Galazio, makes his feature film directorial debut with an original screenplay. Known for his documentary King Otto, Marks expressed his excitement:
“It is an honor to work with such a brilliant cast of Greek and internationally acclaimed actors, along with an incredible team of industry professionals. This is our first major project in Greece, and I am deeply grateful and completely satisfied with the completion of the shoot.”
