The Greek embassy at Kiev for security reasons as there is a strong fear of an air attack by Russia.

The statement reads, “The Embassy of Greece, for security reasons, will remain closed to the public today. Please avoid traveling and stay in safe areas.”

The US has closed its embassy

An alert was raised Wednesday morning at the US embassy in Ukraine after “specific information about a possible major airstrike.”

Following this information, embassy officials decided to temporarily close the embassy.

“As a precautionary measure, the embassy will be closed and employees will stay at home. The U.S. Embassy urges Americans to be prepared to take immediate shelter in the event of an air attack alert,” reads the statement from the
U.S. Embassy in Kiev.

Shortly earlier Reuters reported that Kiev was targeted by Russian aerial bombardment with Ukrainian anti-aircraft systems trying to counter the attacks.

Eyewitnesses told Reuters they heard multiple explosions in what sounded like the operation of anti-aircraft systems.
