Zannis Fratzeskos: luxury living in Monaco amidst a €1.5M tax fine and Nammos dispute

From Ferraris in Monaco to arbitration in London: The high life and challenges of Nammos' co-founder

Newsroom November 23 01:10

One of the founders of the famous Mykonian restaurant appears in a video arriving at Monaco’s casino in a Ferrari SF90 Spyder.

There are numerous websites dedicated to the luxury lifestyle dominating Monaco, featuring videos of extravagant cars arriving at the principality’s Casino, opposite the famed Hotel de Paris.

In one such post, a video begins with the arrival of an impressive red Ferrari SF90 Spider, valued at €700,000. Its owner, Zannis Fratzeskos, steps out.

Zannis Fratzeskos: Living the Dolce Vita in Monaco While the Nammos Dispute Remains Unresolved

After the appearance of Fratzeskos’ supercar, the parade of luxury vehicles continues outside Monaco’s casino.

Fratzeskos, one of the three co-founders of the Mykonos hotspot Nammos, has been a permanent resident of Monaco for years, living there with his family.

In the video, he is dressed casually in a leather Hermes jacket paired with a white shirt, matching white trousers, and Loro Piana shoes. Holding a Hermes pouch and two mobile phones, he waits for his wife, Veronica Pastra, who emerges from the passenger seat to join him for an appointment.

A few hours later, the couple returned in their favorite red Ferrari to the villa they rent just outside Monaco. Many weekends are also spent at their countryside residence in Grasse, a town renowned for its perfumes, where Fratzeskos bought and fully renovated a holiday home.

The man who envisioned and co-founded Nammos at Psarou Beach in Mykonos, along with Sami Ibrahim and the departed Konstantis Kousathanas, drew inspiration from visiting La Gueritte in Cannes. He realized his long-held dream of establishing a presence there this year by opening Nammos at the Palm Beach Hotel.

The Problems

Recently, Zannis Fratzeskos has faced significant challenges alongside his business partner Sami Ibrahim. A fine of €1,562,529.81 for tax evasion from Greece’s Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) for the fiscal year 2018–2019 looms over them.

With surcharges, the amount rose to €3,119,434.51. On top of that, the partners are embroiled in a legal dispute with ADMO, accusing them of mismanagement at Nammos Mykonos, where they hold the majority stake.

As revealed in a Dark Room report by NewMoney on November 8, the unresolved shareholder conflict involves accusations of mismanagement leveled against the majority founders—Fratzeskos and Sami “The Chef” Ibrahim—by ADMO, who entered as a shareholder. The dispute is heading to arbitration in London, as stipulated in their contractual agreement, with ADMO reportedly demanding tens of millions of euros.

Despite these issues, Zannis Fratzeskos continues to enjoy the high life in Monaco, where he hosted the annual Nammos party at the Yacht Club last September.

He was rarely seen in Mykonos this year, spending most of his time in Cannes to oversee the new restaurant. Just a few days ago, he attended another glamorous event.

The President of the Greek Community of Monaco, Katerina Lanara, and the principality’s Board organized a gala dinner at the Yacht Club with 200 guests to honor Greek and Cypriot Olympians from the recent Paris Olympic Games.

As a member of the Greek community in Monaco, Fratzeskos attended with his wife, arriving in his recently purchased Rolls Royce Phantom.

Recently, however, Fratzeskos has occasionally left his luxury Monaco lifestyle to visit Athens to oversee operations for the newly opened Sea Satin – Caprice, a collaboration with Sami.
