Pulse: New Democracy (ND) above the figures of the European elections, its lead over PASOK at 12.5 points -10 parties in the Parliament

Six out of ten SYRIZA voters agree with the creation of a party by Kasselakis, but in the vote estimate the Movement for Democracy was measured at 5%, three points behind SYRIZA

Newsroom November 27 08:50

A poll by Pulse, presented on Skai’s main news bulletin, gives New Democracy an expanded lead of 12.5 points over PASOK, which, however, remains the big winner of the current political situation. Interestingly, the poll shows 10 parties reaching or surpassing the threshold for entering parliament, with SYRIZA “gaining ground” over the Kasselakis party, despite the fact that the vast majority of those who voted for SYRIZA in the European elections support his decision to form a separate political entity.

The Pulse poll records the ruling party at 29.5% in voting intentions, with PASOK rising to 17%. It also gives SYRIZA 8%, the same as the Greek Solution party, while the KKE (Communist Party) is in third place at 9%. The Democratic Movement (Kίνημα Δημοκρατίας) is tied with the Voice of Reason party at 5%, for the sixth and seventh positions. The 3% threshold is reached or surpassed by Pleysi Eleftherias (Plefsi Eleftherias), Niki, and MeRA25, while the New Left (Νέα Αριστερά) “stalls” at 2.5%.

The expulsion of Antonis Samaras from New Democracy is received with mixed feelings by the electorate. However, a very large percentage – over 75% – of New Democracy voters support the expulsion. The acceptance of Samaras’s expulsion among PASOK voters reaches 50%.

The same picture is reflected in the issue of the new party created by Stefanos Kasselakis: The electorate is divided, but 62% of SYRIZA voters in the 2024 European elections support his move. It is also noted that 41% of New Democracy voters and 43% of PASOK voters view the creation of the Democratic Movement positively, with PASOK showing a 3% leakage toward the Kasselakis group.

The highest level of party unity—compared to the European election vote – is recorded by New Democracy at 80%, followed by PASOK at 74%. Meanwhile, SYRIZA, after the internal party developments, only manages 40%, with a 20-point leakage toward Kasselakis’s party and 9 points toward PASOK. Additionally, 14% of SYRIZA voters are in the “gray zone.”
