During a press conference, Paris police chief Laurent Nunes announced that “6,000 people (police, gendarmes)” would be deployed over the weekend, a mobilization similar to the opening ceremony of the Olympics in July.

The ceremony to reopen the cathedral – to which celebrities and heads of state have been invited – is planned to take place on the afternoon of December 7 and will be followed by special services to celebrate the reopening of the cathedral and to thank all those who helped save and rebuild it.
