Irini Mourtzoukou responds: “I am not afraid of being accused for the death of Panagiotakis”

Irini Mourtzoukou says she is anxious about Panagiotakis' histological tests

Newsroom December 3 09:45

Pending histological tests on Panagiotakis, the last of five dead infants at Amaliada, Eirini Mourtzoukou says she is not afraid that she may be charged in the case.

Irini Mourtzoukou says she is anxious about Panagiotakis’ histological tests since “we hear so much, one they say for the intestine, one for … If there was something wrong with him we would have known when we went to the doctor.” Asked if he was afraid of being accused, he replied “No”. “If I’m accused of that too… That’s all we’ve heard, it’s fine.”

Mourtzoukou denies killing 15-month-old Panagiotakis, claims he didn’t fit her “pattern”

On the day Panagiotakis passed away, the 24-year-old said that “10:30 he drank his milk and around 11:00 when Poppy made yogurt or cream he didn’t want it”. “The only times Panagiotis cried was when his teeth hurt,” she said.

He said the child vomited at home and “when we went to the health centre we were told not to clean up the vomit. There is no way the child could have died at home. A few hours before he was fine. He might have even left in the street.”
“I had said from the beginning that I should also be examined since I was in the same room. That everyone should be examined. Poppy and I just don’t have as much contact as we had. I don’t know if she suspects me, I can’t get inside her head,” he said.
