Mourning for the Death of 17-year-old Giannis in a traffic accident – Gas station in Kissamos stops fueling those without helmets

He fought for his life for 16 whole days in the ICU of Chania General Hospital - His funeral will be held tomorrow

Newsroom December 10 10:24

Kissamos is plunged into deep mourning following the tragic death of 17-year-old Giannis Christoulakis in a traffic accident, after he fought for his life for 16 entire days in the ICU of Chania General Hospital.

It is reminded that the 17-year-old was the victim of a serious traffic accident on Heroon Polytechniou Street in Kissamos on November 23.

During the fall, he suffered cranial and brain injuries and was initially transferred to the Kissamos Health Center for first aid. He was later transported to Chania General Hospital, where he remained intubated, fighting a tough battle to stay alive.

Gas Station “Responds” to the Death of the 17-Year-Old – Stops Fueling Those Without Helmets

Shortly after the news of the young man’s death, a gas station in Kissamos announced that, starting Wednesday (12/11/2024), it will cease to supply fuel to any small or large motorcycle unless the driver or passenger wears a safety helmet. At the same time, it urged all other gas stations to adopt the same policy, according to the flashnews.gr website.

As stated in a declaration by an employee of the business:

“The gas station ‘Emmanouil Rodousakis & Co.’ announces that due to the unjust loss of 16-year-old Ioannis Christoulakis following a traffic accident, from tomorrow, 12/11/2024, it will not provide fuel to any small or large motorcycle unless the driver or passenger is wearing a safety helmet… We hope that other gas stations in our town will follow this initiative, aiming together to prevent further loss of lives… Finally, we wish Giannis’s family that God and the grace of Our Lady give them patience and strength during this trial…”
