Electric cars that came to a standstill caused chaos in Arachova – What the police says

Due to the low temperatures prevailing in the area it was observed that many electric vehicles experienced technical problems resulting in them being immobilized - Watch video

Newsroom December 25 10:26

The police attribute the traffic jam caused on Christmas afternoon until 9.00 p.m. in Parnassos and specifically on the road from Livadi to Arachova to technical problems with electric vehicles.

According to a statement issued by the headquarters of the National Police, the traffic jam was caused as electric vehicles were stalled on the road on their way back from the ski resort. ERT reported that the problem became particularly intense in the early afternoon due to three electric cars that had chains but became immobilized. The situation was also exacerbated by drivers who did not have chains with them, even though it is mandatory in the area and there were roadblocks for inspections.
