New Year’s Eve at music venues and live stages: Costs, sold-out acts & last-minute deals

A mini entertainment guide for New Year’s Eve: Minimum spend and in-person reservations

Newsroom December 29 09:59

Once again, many people will choose a major Athenian music venue or a smaller live stage for their New Year’s Eve celebrations. So, how is the nightlife shaping up for the last evening of the year, and how much will revelers need to spend to welcome 2025 with the most popular music acts?

According to our report, Athens’ nightlife venues are expected to be packed on New Year’s Eve, with some already sold out for several days. For instance, “Kentro Athinon” featuring Konstantinos Argyros and “NOX” with Antonis Remos and Despina Vandi have no available seats. Similarly, all tables are reserved at Hotel Ermou, where Anna Vissi will perform, although you can enjoy a drink at the bar for €25.

This year, due to high demand during the festive nights, some venues no longer accept phone reservations. Instead, patrons must visit the venue, inquire about pricing, and pay a deposit to secure their table. This policy is followed by “Fantasia Live” with Nikos Oikonomopoulos and “Akti Peiraios” hosting Natassa Theodoridou. At the latter, a few tables are still available, with the New Year’s Eve package costing €400 for four people.

The average cost per person for New Year’s Eve at most large music venues is around €100, with some variations depending on the venue. For comparison, regular season prices at these venues typically range between €180 and €280 for four people (€45-€70 per person), depending on table location and bottle type (standard, special, or premium). The festive surcharge thus averages €30-€55 per person.

For example, those choosing to ring in the New Year at “Anodos” with Giannis Ploutarchos and Nikos Makropoulos, “Votanikos” with Giorgos Sabanis and Giorgos Kakoseos, “Rox” with Stamatis Gonidis and Giorgos Tsalikis, or “Posidonio” with Thodoris Ferris and Nikos Apergis will pay approximately €100 per person.

Some venues, however, require a specific minimum spend to reserve a table for New Year’s Eve. At “Theama Athens,” featuring Paola, Christos Menidiatis, and Nino, the minimum spend is €700 for up to eight people, meaning a party of four would pay €175 each.

If you prefer to see Peggy Zina at “Mezzo Athens,” New Year’s Eve prices start at €70 per person for a back table in the main hall, while the holiday surcharge at “Cabaret” featuring Sakis Rouvas is €40 per person above regular prices, with bottle packages ranging from €220 to €320 for four people.

Other popular performers include Eleni Foureira and Christos Mastoras at “Enastron,” Nikos Vertis at “YTON,” Giorgos Mazonakis at “Fantasia,” Themis Adamantidis and Katerina Stanisi at “North Live Stage,” Makis Christodoulopoulos and Chara Verra at “Can Can,” Nikos Kourkoulis and Angeliki Iliadi at “Lux Stage,” and Petros Iakovidis with Ivi Adamou at “Vogue Club.”

Music Stages and Folk Venues

Costs are notably lower at smaller live music stages and folk venues in Athens, some of which also include dining options. At “Perivoli T’ Ouranou,” featuring Christos Nikolopoulos, Pitsa Papadopoulou, Stelios Dionysiou, and Eleanna Papaioannou, a full holiday menu with live music is offered for €120 per person, the same price as the New Year’s Eve party at “Gazarte,” which will feature a surprise artist.

Fans of ’90s Greek music can celebrate with Michalis Rakintzis and Kostas Haritodiplomenos at “Gialino Mousiko Theatro” for €50 per person. Alternatively, the “Stavros tou Notou Plus” offers a lively and energetic rebetiko New Year’s Eve with the Gianginides for an entry fee of just €12.
