Syria: Al-Sarra’s justice minister oversaw the execution of two women in 2015

Sadi Mohammed al-Waisi had announced that the two women would be executed for "infidelity and adultery" - "We are past this phase" commented a Syrian government source who confirmed the authenticity of the videos

A sensational revelation by an investigative website in Syria (Verify-Sy) that the justice minister of the country’s new government under Ahmed al-Sara in 2015 had overseen the execution of two women for violating Sharia law has been revealed.

The videos show Sadi Mohammed al-Waisi, who was acting as a judge at the time, announcing that the two women would be executed for “infidelity and adultery.”

The videos appear to have been recorded in two towns in Idlib, in northwestern Syria, when the al-Nusra Front, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda, was in power there.

In the second of the videos, in fact, the woman can be heard pleading with al-Waisi to “let me see my children.”

In this 2015 video, Shadi Mohammad al-Waisi, now Syria's acting justice minister, participates in the public murder of two women.

A few seconds later the two women were shot dead, with the men present shouting “Allahu Akbar” and celebrating.

A senior Syrian government official confirmed to Verify-Sy that the man in the video is indeed the new justice minister.

The same source claimed that what is depicted in the videos is the implementation of the law “at a specific place and time” and that “the procedures were carried out according to the laws in force at the time.”

Finally, according to the same source, what is shown in the video represents “a phase we have passed through” adding that “there will be a thorough investigation into all legal actions of that period to ensure the validity of the decisions and their alignment with law and justice.”
