Pulse: 14 points lead for ND, PASOK falls, Velopoulos and Latinoupoulou rise, 10 parties in Parliament

Mitsotakis' 22-point lead for prime minister - One in two people have a negative view of Tasoulas' candidacy for the presidency of the Republic

Newsroom January 23 09:59

The Pulse poll, presented on Sky’s main newscast, recorded a slight rise in the New Democracy, a one-point drop for PASOK and a strengthening of the Greek Solution and the Voice of Reason in the wake of Trump’s re-election. Kyriakos Mitsotakis continues to dominate without an opponent in the question of the most suitable prime minister, as he collects 30% – as much as his party – while Nikos Androulakis remains at 8%, i.e. 50% of the vote in PASOK.

The count shows SYRIZA in fifth place with a half-point gain, behind KKE, which remains stable at 9.5% in the vote estimate, and Hellenic Solution, which gains half a point and also reaches 9.5%. Pulse again “puts out” a ten-party parliament, with Spartans and New Left out of the picture, but Voice of Logic with 6%, Plefsi Eleftherias with 4.5%, the Kasselakis party with 4%, as well as Niki and Mera25 with 3%. It should be noted that the voting intention shows a “grey zone” of 15.5% – which suggests that there is no electoral psychology among the citizens.

Regarding the choice of Tasoulas for President, 49% evaluate it negatively and 35% positively – however, 54% of citizens state that the party origin of the candidate for the highest state office should not be the most important criterion, but rather it should be mainly the person and his/her characteristics that count.

For Trump

The poll, conducted between 19 and 21 January – that is, coinciding with the inauguration of the new US president and his first hours in the White House – also records the first reactions of citizens to Trump’s return to power: Regardless of party, feelings of pessimism, anxiety, but also curiosity predominate, while only among men aged 17 to 44 years, satisfaction, optimism and interest are expressed at a high rate.
