Weather: High temperatures for the season persist – The forecast for the weekend

The temperature exceeded 20 degrees yesterday in Chania

Newsroom January 24 08:10

The weather will resemble Spring through the end of the month with unseasonably high temperatures persisting.

In fact, according to EMY director Thodoris Kolydas, no significant rain is expected until the middle of next week. However, as the meteorologist notes, shortly before the end of the month it will rain in the west and the temperature will return to normal for the season. Regarding the cold invasion that some meteorologists see coming in early February, Kolydas calls them “hopeful sentinels.”

Kolydas’ post

“No significant rain until the middle of next week in the country, with occasional – just before the end of the month – much-needed showers from the west.

Temperatures will be unseasonably high over the next few days with a trend back to normal by the end of the month.

From the internet space, there are fervent hopes and “news” of much needed snow showers , but the uncertainties are great and the forecast horizon is limited. This can be seen in the relevant meteorogram”.

Maximum temperature values on Thursday 23/01/2025

Normal, for the season, temperature values were recorded on Thursday 23/01, with the highest temperature recorded in Crete, where the mercury reached 20.7 °C in Aghios Pantes, Chania.
