Anafi was declared a state of emergency

Due to seismic activity between Santorini and Amorgos – The declaration will remain in effect until March 13, 2025

The Municipality of Anafi has been declared in a state of emergency under Civil Protection measures to address urgent needs and manage the consequences of the recent seismic activity in the region. This decision was made by the General Secretary for Civil Protection, Vasilis Papageorgiou. The declaration will remain in effect until March 13, 2025.

It is worth noting that the Municipality of Amorgos was also declared in a state of emergency yesterday, while the Municipality of Thira has been under such status for more than a week.

Specifically, according to an official document, the General Secretary for Civil Protection, Vasilis Papageorgiou, decided:
“The declaration of the Municipality of Anafi, within the Regional Unit of Thira in the South Aegean Region, in a State of Emergency under Civil Protection measures, in order to address urgent needs and manage the consequences resulting from the seismic activity that has been occurring in the region in recent times.”

At the same time, it is emphasized that this declaration will be in effect from the date of issuance of this decision for a period of one month, until March 13, 2025.
“Upon the expiration of the designated period, the state of emergency will be lifted automatically without the need for a new official document,” the announcement states.
