Ellinikon: Video of the progress of the works – The under grounding of Poseidonos and the Riviera Tower

Work on the largest of its kind tourist and leisure complex in Europe continues daily with Lamda Development presenting a new video with the progress of the works

Newsroom February 17 11:00

LAMDA Development today unveiled a video on social media showing the progress of works at the construction sites of the former airport site in Ellenikon, realizing day by day the city of tomorrow, the company said.

Regarding the project to underground Poseidon Avenue and create one of the most modern tunnels in Europe, 1.5 km long, it is reported that 75% of the concreting has been completed. Regarding The Ellinikon Sports Park, a 444,000 sqm area with state-of-the-art sports facilities, it is noted that the construction of the buildings and landscaping work for the stadiums, track and field are underway.

Work is also in full swing on another construction site for the construction of the 200-metre, 50-storey Riviera Tower, which will be the tallest seaside “green” building in the Eastern Mediterranean. The 15th floor is already visible and work is proceeding at a rapid pace.

In the high aesthetic residential complex, just a few meters from the beach (The Cove Residences), the construction of the building frame has already been completed. In the new neighborhood being created in the heart of the new city, Little Athens, concreting is underway. For The Ellinikon Mall, which will be the largest and most modern shopping center in Greece, it is noted that the excavations have been completed and the next phase will follow. At Riviera Galleria, which will be a destination for luxury shopping and fine dining, the concreting of the foundation is underway.

As the company has pointed out, both during the construction of the project and after its completion, the focus is on sustainable development and the circular economy, with a series of actions and strategies leading to the creation of the first 15-minute city in Greece (access to basic services within 15 minutes, using walking or cycling). It is also characteristic that an area, that until recently was 70% covered by concrete, will be 70% covered by greenery upon completion of the project.
