According to the statement issued by the President’s Communication Directorate, quoted by the NTV news media, Erdogan expressed his full confidence that Turkey and the United States, as two allies, will advance their cooperation with solidarity, results orientation and sincerity in this new period.

In addition, the Turkish president said that regional and global developments have necessitated increased consultations between Turkey and the US on all issues, and that they support Trump’s “direct and decisive initiatives to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.”

Finally, in his communication with the US president, Erdogan reportedly said that Turkey has been “striving for a just and lasting peace since the beginning of the war in Ukraine“ and will continue to do so.
